SURIGAO CITY – Gilauman nga makibhangan ang isyu sa Gender-based Violence (GBV) ning rehiyon human gipahigayon ang 5 ka adlaw nga training sa Comprehensive Intervention Against Gender-based Violence (CIAG-V) ug Women Friendly Spaces sa Tavern Hotel, dakbayan sa Surigao.

Ang nahisgutang kalihokan gitambongan sa kadagkoang opisyal gikan sa 37 ka mga Local Government Units (LGUs) ning rehiyon.

Gipasiugdahan kini sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga ilawom sa kadumalahan ni Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli.

Sumala ni DSWD Caraga 4Ps Regional Information Officer II Ryan Malbas Tapayan, gawas sa mga LGUs, nitambong usab sa kalihokan ang mga representante gikan sa DSWD-CO Protective Service Bureau, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), ug pipila ka personahe sa rehiyonal nga buhatan.

Nag-unang katuyoan sa kalihokan mao ang pagpalambo sa kakapas sa LGU social workers ingon man ang ubang service providers kabahin sa gitawag og “preventive strategies” alang sa CIAG-V project.

“This five (5) day activity as participated by representatives from the DSWD-CO Protective Service Bureau, UNFPA, partner-LGUs and personnel from FO-Caraga aims to enhance the capacities of LGU social workers and other service providers in the provision of preventive strategies in the context of CIAG-V project,” tipik sa impormasyon ni Tapayan.

Ang padayong pagpatuman sa maong mekanismo mao matod pay nakapabutang sa Pilipinas sa ika-walo nga puwesto sa kinatibuk-ang 1,365 ka mga nasod nga dunay “smallest gender gap” basi sa 2012 Global Gender Gap Report of the World Economic Forum.

“The continuous mechanism installed by the country placed Philippines as the eight (8th) country out of the 1365 countries with the smallest gender gap based on the 2012 Global Gender Gap Report of the World Economic Forum,” dugang sa opisyal.
